Digital health & clinical research

Turning world-leading health research into digital experiences people can use.

15+years
30+projects & programmes

Helping expert research teams turn ideas into practical digital health programmes.

For more than 15 years, SPIKA has worked alongside researchers, clinicians and NHS teams, including world-leading specialists at King's College London, to deliver digital health and research programmes across mental and physical health.

The clinical expertise, research models and therapeutic approaches come from the specialist teams we work with. Our role is to understand what they are trying to achieve and translate it into secure, accessible and dependable digital services that work for patients, clinicians and researchers.

The work has ranged from digital therapies and self-management programmes to assessments, surveys and behavioural interventions, supporting clinical trials, pilot programmes and wider deployment.

Supporting diverse patient populations

CIRCuiTS

Cognitive remediation developed by King's College London researchers to support memory, attention and planning. SPIKA's digital platform connects therapist-supported treatment with patient exercises, progress tracking and independent activity across countries and languages.

COMPASS

Digital CBT and self-management addressing the psychological impact of long-term physical health conditions. SPIKA's platform translates the research-led intervention into structured, accessible patient journeys, with therapist support where required.

IBD-BOOST

Online self-management for people with inflammatory bowel disease experiencing fatigue, pain and urgency. The digital experience supports structured exercises, education and practical techniques developed and evaluated by specialist research teams.

myMCI

Digital information and self-management for people experiencing Mild Cognitive Impairment. Accessible guidance, activities and practical support help people understand and manage changes to memory and thinking in everyday life.

OTHER RESEARCH PROGRAMMES

Digital assessment, behavioural-change and self-management across mental and physical health, including surveys, assessment journeys and therapist-supported programmes. Tailored technology supports research teams running clinical trials and pilot schemes.

Turning specialist research into digital experiences.

Medical researchers develop sophisticated interventions based on clinical expertise and evidence. Turning them into digital programmes requires more than simply putting existing exercises online.

The technology needs to preserve the intent of the research while translating complex clinical models into practical digital journeys that can be delivered consistently and reliably.

Supporting research, care and real-world use

The same service may need to work for patients completing activities independently, clinicians supporting their progress and researchers collecting structured information.

Sensitive health information, evolving research requirements, accessibility, security and reliability all have to be considered alongside the patient experience.

Digital expertise, built around people.

  • UNDERSTAND & TRANSLATE

Work closely with researchers and clinicians to understand the intervention, patient needs and research requirements, then translate them into practical digital journeys.

  • DESIGN FOR PEOPLE

Create accessible, intuitive and rewarding digital experiences that encourage engagement and make complex activities easier to understand and complete.

  • DATA & INSIGHT

Structure and capture assessments, inputs, progress and outcomes data to support empirical research, analysis and evaluation by authorised clinical and research teams.

  • BUILD & OPERATE

Design, develop, securely host and operate streamlined digital solutions on a reusable technical foundation, keeping technology out of the way while enabling new interventions and related programmes to be launched, tested and evolved more quickly and cost-effectively.
